Math Galaxy Tutorial - K12 Math

Welcome to Math Galaxy

What's different about Math Galaxy?

  • It's like having your own personal tutor for K-12 math, guiding you through the exercises at your own pace.
  • It connects the abstract concepts of math to concrete experiences, with graphical illustrations at each step to help you remember.
  • It gives you unlimited practice and detailed explanations.
  • Like Singapore Math it uses block modeling to model word problems, and like Everyday Math it uses a variety of algorithms to help students understand our numbering system.
  • The tutorial areas on the site are free except that the riddle exercises have a limited number of riddles.

"As I explored each area of the program, I became more and more impressed with the mathematical challenges it presented."
"Each of the various areas that your child can work in has several nice functions."
"The first option is how the computer program reviews the concept with the student before they start working problems of their own."
"As the computer program walks them through the problems, there is a heavy use of visual demonstrations and cues that help them to "see" how it works and to get a visual picture of the concept."
"The "answer only" option allowed us to use this as drill practice on reinforcing concepts."
"I do highly recommend Math Galaxy Whole Numbers Fun."

"With the step-by-step function, our children were able to truly use the Math Galaxy application as another 'math book' to help our children better grasp concepts that were difficult for them."
"I do highly recommend Math Galaxy Fractions Fun for those who would like additional resources to supplement their math curriculum, as a tool to present a difficult curriculum in a different way, and as drill practice."

"The excitement the entire concept held for my fourth grader was wonderful as he excitedly completed problems in order to solve the riddle."
"Overall, the number of possible worksheets is mind boggling, as are the many specific target areas."
"We loved the benefits of printing worksheets to address specific needs for each of our children."
"And the riddles spurred our children on to completion and took away the objections they sometimes have toward math worksheets."
"The giggles brought on by some of the riddles help take the sting out of what can otherwise be a tedious part of learning."

Keep up the good work."
